Okay -- You've read through most of Dynasty Manager 101 created by DM users to help out fellow DM users, good job, you're 90 feet closer to home. You have created your Dynasty Manager account.
Congratulations.
However, though you might have entered the redzone for the very first time, there's one last step to officially being part of the DM family.
Writing.
You heard that right; to be able to have a successful DM page, you have to know how to write and the proper way too. The world has now entered it's days where any 10-year old kid can go on the internet and write an article regarding Brett Favre's 5-TD game. The article was likely didn't have any paragraphs, had quite a few spelling mistakes and looked like an 8th grade essay that wasn't double spaced. Let's run down the list of what a good article must contain:
--------------------
#1 - It must include at least 1 picture. Nobody is going to read an article that is dead, it needs a picture in it for it to be alive somehow. A lot of readers tend to pre-read, by looking at the title, the captains & also the pictures to get an idea of what the article is about before even reading it. If it is a short article, include one. If it tends to be long, add an extra one in there somehow.
--------------------
#2 - It must look professional. Ever go on Astros.com or your favorite team's website and read all the 3 articles that are put out everyday? Before you even write your first article on Dynasty Manager, try going to your favorite team's site and read a few of the articles that are up there. Try mixing their style in with yours, to get some added writing skill into it.
--------------------
#3 - Add paragraphs. As stated here elsewhere on Dynasty Manager 101, add the code that allows you to double space to make it look like paragraphs. Like mentioned earlier, you don't want your articles to look like an 8th grade essay.
--------------------
#4 - Spell check everything you write. Even if you're sure you spelt everything right, spell check it. You're bound to make at least 2 spelling mistakes an article, it's a proven fact.
--------------------
#5 - After you have finished your articles, please read through them. While these are not spelling mistakes, you often might leave a word out, leaving readers in confusion. For instance, if you meant to type "Julius Jones takes it up to the 20-yard line for a first down.", there's a chance that you might have left the word "to" out. It happens alot.
--------------------
#6 - It's okay to make stuff up. When players charge the mound on MVP Baseball 2005, they do not show the actual fight. So if you want to make stuff up like "Larry Walker charged the mound but Roy Oswalt punched him in the face." to add some action into the article, then go ahead. Do not hesitate.
--------------------
#7 - And last but not least, add a lot of stats into your article. Let the readers know who did what, and when. If you have Drew Bledsoe throwing to Terry Glenn, inform your readers that Terry Glenn had his career year under Drew Bledsoe in 1996. That type of stuff.
